Our answer: a frequency inverter that combines with any motor to form a high-performance system, regardless of the motor technology, motor manufacturer or performance class of the motor.

KOSTAL INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter

The KOSTAL INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter is the latest addition to our INVEOR family: a motor- or wall-mounted 3-phase and 1-phase frequency inverter in two sizes with up to 4 kW. With a robust and vibration-resistant housing, it complies with protection class IP65. A micro SD card slot and status LEDs make it particularly clear and easy to use.

The option of simply plugging in and configuring certain options at the customer's site reduces storage requirements and the complexity of the devices.

INVEOR MC1 customisable options

The MC1 offers a wide range of customisation options to meet your individual application requirements.

  1. The housing option offers a choice of IO expansion via M-12 connectors. PROFIsafe/FSoE communication* can also be added as an option. A display* can also be installed by you if required, either at the time of purchase or at a later date.
  2. The plug-in options allow you to add either an STO function (functional safety) or a relay.
  3. If you want particularly convenient operation via tablet or mobile phone, the INVEOR MC1 can also be equipped with a Bluetooth stick and controlled directly via the associated app.
  4. If it is not sufficient to feed the energy back into the motor during occasional braking, an internal PTC braking resistor can be used as an option.
  5. Customised cabling possible with cable glands, Phoenix Quickon, MQ15 or M12

The INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter’s control method

Imagine a frequency inverter that controls any type of motor – regardless of manufacturer, technology or efficiency class.

With the INVEOR MC1, you can do just that. It supports all synchronous reluctance, synchronous and asynchronous motors, giving you maximum flexibility and independence.

The INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter uses the innovative pulse injection method. This allows the rotor position to be determined without vulnerable components such as encoder sensors. This improves the robustness and durability of the system while achieving maximum energy efficiency.

Performance parameters of the INVEOR MC1

  • 3~ AC: 0.55 – 4.0kW / 1~ AC: 0.55 – 1.5kW
  • 250% overload: Use 250% overload for up to 3 seconds if required. Or 200% for a full 60 seconds.
  • Speed control range of 1:200: Control your three-phase motors precisely and accurately – thanks to an optimised speed control range and maximum control quality.
  • Optimised torque control: Maintain constant torque in all applications that require it (e.g. extruder screws or winding applications).
  • Control of all motor types: Control the speed of all your motors. Even synchronous and synchronous reluctance motors in efficiency class IE5.

Further INVEOR MC1 equipment features

The INVEOR MC1 has extensive signal inputs and outputs as well as an integrated, flexibly configurable holding brake control.

The direct connection to the motor also makes it possible to monitor vibrations from the drive and intervene in the event of irregularities. This integrated vibration monitoring is your entry point into predictive maintenance.

The MC1 also features a positioning function, which is mapped purely via the innovative control procedure and completely dispenses with external encoders.

From automatic motor detection (SelfCom) to safety functions such as STO and individual customisation options via the integrated soft PLC, the INVEOR MC1 leaves nothing to be desired. With the SelfCom function, the motor is measured at the touch of a button and provides high-quality control parameters, eliminating the need for time-consuming calibration on the test bench.

INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter communication

The KOSTAL INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter offers the widest range of fieldbus options and interfaces.

  • CANopen, PROFINET, EtherCAT (optional): Take advantage of our wide range of application ladder cards. Equip the INVEOR MP frequency inverter with the interfaces that suit your needs.
  • MQTT protocol: Make your motors and applications fit for Industry 4.0 by transferring diagnostic data directly to your cloud and accessing it from anywhere.
  • Bluetooth (optional): Control the INVEOR MC1 frequency inverter via Bluetooth if desired. Either permanently installed or as a plug-in solution.
