This is where careers are built...

A few days ago, we welcomed a class from Hagen’s Cuno vocational school to an information event at KOSTAL Industrie Elektrik. The pupils, who will graduate this year with a general certificate of secondary education, have focused their studies on electrical technology. Many of them have the aim of entering into a technical apprenticeship while others want to continue with a vocational diploma so they can go to colleague or university. The purpose of the information event was to provide the younger generation with inspiration for their future careers, and most especially to give them some useful tips for future application processes. We had therefore put together a very varied programme.

After the company presentation, which focused especially on technology, we moved onto talking about HR issues and training options, which are very important for school pupils, especially given the current situation. After a short warm-up session, the pupils gradually came out of their shells and asked a lot of questions. We then moved into production where they were able to observe a PIKO inverter being manufactured for themselves and put into practice the technical knowledge they have learned at school.
The feedback from the students was very positive as they found the afternoon very interesting, were able to take important career inspiration away with them and considered the visit to be "an informative insight into an industrial firm". We are therefore delighted with this smart connection between school-based theory and the practical work we do and how we presented ourselves as a potential employer. After all, this is an important aspect of our future programmes and makes up the fourth element of our "Smart connections." brand alongside the KOSTAL family, partnership based on symbiosis and quality-offensive thinking.
